Black Panther (2018) Full Movie

Black Panther Poised to Cross $1 Billion Worldwide This Weekend. Next Friday, Marvel’s Black Panther Full Movie celebrates one month since its domestic release. This weekend, Ryan Coogler‘s superhero film should cross the $1 billion-mark at the international box office. That’s crazy. If it crosses that mark this weekend, the film will be in great company as one of the fastest billion-dollar earnersever. The worldwide tally will be helped out in a big way by the film’s last major international opening date in China today where early estimates point to a $22.7 million frame. Black Panther Full Movie currently sits at $940.3 million as of last night’s ticket sales, so a strong international debut and a solid domestic performance should be enough to bump Marvel’s latest superhero movie into the 10-figure club.

If China’s box office estimate holds, that’ll make Black Panther the third-highest opening day ever for any MCU/super-hero title there, behind only Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War; it’s also right around the same mark as Spider-Man: HomecomingBlack Panther just passed that particular film on the international box office level as of yesterday, as well. Even with a 50-60% drop from last week’s domestic weekend total, Black Panther could still bring in between $26.5 to $33 million; a similar performance on the international market would net another $23.1 to $28.9 million. Add in China’s expected estimate, and the film should easily cross $1 billion this weekend.

Black Panther 2 Already Has a Solid Direction Says Kevin Feige. Even if it didn’t stand a chance of being the biggest film at the 2018 box office, Black Panther would probably get a sequel. But since the film is creeping towards a billion worldwide, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has no hesitation acknowledging that there will be a Black Panther 2, and that they’re already kicking around ideas for what it could be.

Note that co-writer/director Ryan Coogler hasn’t officially signed on to direct the sequel, which will be interesting to see if his idea for a sequel is in line with what Marvel wants (or if that solid direction is something Coogler himself provided in developing the first movie). Presumably, Coogler, should he return, would be given more freedom in the same way that Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 has even more of James Gunn’s personality than the raucous first film.

As for where the sequel could go, we don’t know how things will change post-Infinity War. In the interview, Feige says Wakanda will be an anchor point similar to Asgard, and I think fans would be pretty bummed if Wakanda got totally destroyed. Wakanda for a Few Months, doesn’t have quite the same ring to it as Wakanda Forever. Personally, I’m interesting to see more of the political side of Black Panther, especially as T’Challa has to wrestle with what it means to open your borders.

Black Panther’s Shuri Is Going To Be A Big Part Of The MCU Moving Forward.

There was so much awesomeness in Black Panther Full Movie that it’s difficult to keep track. But one element that stood out as particularly excellent was T’Challa’s sister, Wakanda’s Princess and genius level scientist Shuri, as played by Letitia Wright.

She was funny, she was smart, she was cool and she kicked ass with her strike gauntlets in the final battle. And with Marvel Studios reportedly set to make big changes following Avengers: Infinity War and its sequel, it seems like a no-brainer to increase her presence across the MCU.

Kevin Feige clearly agrees, too. In an interview with EW, he spoke about the potential future of Black Panther, which in the wake of its barnstorming box office success looks set to be extremely influential on any new direction the franchise takes.

With rumors swirling that Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark might meet his end against Thanos, any future incarnation of the Avengers will need a tech guru – and who better than Shuri? Black Panther ends with Wakanda launching its outreach program, which Shuri’s instrumental in directing, so logically, we’d expect to see her influence being felt in every corner of the MCU.

Black Panther shirts found at certain retailers are paying homage to some legendary heavy metal bands. Target is selling a Black Panther shirt that represents a take on a classic Black Sabbath logo, while JCPenney is currently offering a shirt that pays tribute to Pantera. The lines between homage and rip-off may be a bit blurry, but either way, Black Panther fans who also happen to like heavy metal may be in luck, if you’re looking for an item of clothing that represents both of those interests at the same time.

While Black Panther Full Movie didn’t really have anything to do with metal music, the movie is getting ready to cross the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office. So there’s no doubt that quite a few fans of metal music around the world have seen the movie. Even for those who don’t even realize what these shirts are influenced by, they’re pretty good-looking shirts either way. Maybe for Black Panther 2 we can get some Metallica and Anthrax influenced shirts? You can check out images of the heavy metal-inspired Black Panther shirts for yourself below. This was first reported by Metal Injection.

Black Panther (2018)

Kevin Feige says Black Panther will absolutely get a sequel, early story plans already in place.

Well, this will come as no surprise whatsoever given that the first movie is set to break the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office this weekend, but Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has confirmed that we absolutely will do a sequel to Black Panther, and that ideas for the second movie are already in place.

One of the favorite pastimes at Marvel Studios is sitting around on a Part One and talking and dreaming about what we would do in a Part Two, Feige tells EW. There have been plenty of those conversations as we were putting together the first Black Panther. We have ideas and a pretty solid direction on where we want to head with the second one.

The nation of Wakanda is going to play a big role in Avengers: Infinity War as the site of a major battle between Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Thanos’ forces (according to Feige, we’ll be spending the entire third act there), so you’d have to imagine the events – and aftermath – of the next two Avengers movies will have a significant impact on the story for the sequel.

Presumably, Black Panther 2 will fill one of the recently announced Marvel release, and join the already announced Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as part of the Phase Four slate.

A king is only as strong as those who stand beside him. Luckily for Black Panther, he has one of the coolest girls in the world to keep him on his toes: his little sister, Shuri. Actress Letitia Wright wonderfully brought the Wakandan princess to life in Ryan Coogler’s record-breaking hit Black Panther, and now one of the film’s artists has shared some Shuri concept art that shows off a few early designs for the tech-savvy genius.

I feel sheepish admitting this, but I didn’t even notice that Shuri’s gauntlets in the movie were shaped like panthers. I just thought they were cool-looking blasters. So while Ortiz prefers the sleeker models we saw in the film, I would have preferred the giant gauntlets from that concept art because I definitely would have picked up on the designs that way. But maybe that’s just me. Maybe everyone else was totally aware that those gauntlets are panther-shaped and I’m the only one who looks like an idiot right now!

Wright’s performance as Shuri was so great that I had to specifically ask writer/director Ryan Coogler about her character when I spoke with him about the film. Here’s what he said:

Going through the process of writing the film and working with my co-writer, Joe Robert Cole, I thought Shuri would be a cool Q. It’d be really interesting seeing a young African teenager who’s manipulated this element in ways that nobody else could and who’s confident and able to have her own space. In our minds, Wakanda’s a place that looks at age differently than other places. It’s not a place where, because you’re young, you don’t get a chance to lead, and because you’re old, we don’t cast you aside. It’s looking at time and age more in an African sense.

I also thought that as we were writing, I realized that the more stuff we can put in this relationship between T’Challa and his sister, the better off we’ll be because that’s another thing that makes him so unique. There are no superheroes that I can think of that have a little sister who they love dearly and who can bring out the best in them but also keep them down to Earth, you know what I mean? Their relationship is built on love, and out of that, so many other things grew. She became so much more than just a Q.

Diversity Rules At The B.O. As Disney’s Black Panther Full Movie & A Wrinkle In Time Take Top Two Spots. Saturday AM writethru following Friday midday update: Disney will own the box office with two films touting diverse casts, Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther full movie now at No. 1 with an estimated $41.5M and Ava DuVernay’s A Wrinkle in Time with $35.3M.

At a time when our U.S. President cultivates division in society, Hollywood and moviegoers counter that by supporting pics with positive messages of inclusivity.

A Wrinkle in Time is arriving where tracking saw it in the mid-$30Ms, with the added bonus that it beat Marvel’s monolith Black Panther on Friday, $11.3M to $10.2M. Generating an 89% positive score among 13-17 year olds, A Wrinkle in Time is clearly a weekend matinee movie and before calling its ticket sales final, let’s see how it plays out later tonight.

Geek Buzz: Black Panther 2 and Wonder Woman 2 Updates; Denis Villeneuve Plans Multiple Dune Movies

Although no official announcement has been made, we can be sure there’ll be a Black Panther sequel. It’s inevitable given how much money the first one is making. Also, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige just confirmed the plans to Entertainment Weekly. He said:

We absolutely will do that. One of the favorite pastimes at Marvel Studios is sitting around on a Part One and talking and dreaming about what we would do in a Part Two. There have been plenty of those conversations as we were putting together the first Black Panther. We have ideas and a pretty solid direction on where we want to head with the second one.

Feige also addressed the fans’ desires for Black Panther spin-offs specifically starring the characters played by Letitia Wright and Danai Gurira:

I think there’s lots of potential. It’s a balance between leaving people wanting more and then giving them too much, but I would watch a movie about any of those characters you just named. I think Shuri’s astounding, and you’ll see much more of her in our universe. Okoye, I think I’d watch three action films with just Okoye. I’m not saying we’re doing that, but I’m saying that we’re intrigued by them. Frankly, as I’ve said before, finishing these first 22 movies is really all we’re thinking about at this point.

As for the rest of Marvel’s future plans, you can read the rest of the interview at EWto find out how much Wakanda you’ll see in Avengers: Infinity War, how ’90s action movies are inspiring Captain Marvel, what Feige thinks of X-Men and Fantasic Four properties coming to the MCU and more.
