Avengers Infinity War Full Movie: Welcome to this week’s Preview Reel column, wherein we look at the week’s new wide-release movies. A Quiet Place regained the top spot at the box office this weekend, but the horror film’s box-office dominance will undoubtedly come to an end this weekend as what may arguably be the most anticipated movie of the year hits theaters when Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War (2018) Full Movie finally arrives at multiplexes with a wave of anticipation few movies have seen. The film has the potential to break the opening weekend box-office record of $248 million—currently owned by Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)—but will the latest Avengers film be any good?
What we are excited about: To be honest, a lot. The first trailer that debuted back in December broke records for a reason—it’s good. While we have seen the Avengers team up since The Avengers (2012) in both Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) and Captain America: Civil War (2016), this film just has a more epic feel to it. This one feels like what the whole universe has been building towards with the Infinity Stones coming back into play and Thanos finally showing up. The trailers seem to promise some truly epic moments and ones that will have ramifications for the whole universe going forward. With so many of the original Avengers cast members’ contracts expiring, we’re wondering if this is the one where some of them may just bite the dust. We’re not totally sure since there is an Avengers 4 coming out next year—but you never know.
What we are worried about: This movie looks massive, maybe too massive. Jamming 18 movies-worth of characters into one film seems like a Herculean task, and while the Russo Brothers have displayed their strengths in the Marvel universe with two of the MCU’s best-received entries (Captain America: The Winter Solider and Captain America: Civil War), we’re wondering how they are going to pull off the balancing act in this film. There will undoubtedly be characters that get the short end of the stick and we’re wondering how they are going to be able to keep the plot under control with so many characters in the mix. Also, a movie with this many stars has never been seen before, but if they can pull it off, this could be something truly special.
The Buzz: The internet has been dominated the last few weeks by talk of Avengers: Infinity War Full Movie. While A Quiet Place and Rampage made some noise at the box office, everyone has been keeping their eyes on the storm that is Infinity War. While no reviews had been published as of this writing, which is a little strange since Marvel likes to premiere their movies early to get buzz started, they probably realize they don’t need much more buzz with this movie as it has outsold the last seven MCU movies combined and they don’t want spoilers out there for too long. Ultimately, we think it will beat The Force Awakens’ debut of $248 million, but just barely, with an estimated $250 million.
